Just curious to see how non-chinese names translate into hanzi.
Eric > ειε > εε
When I first started learning Chinese a few years ago I took on a Chinese name.
βε΄ε€©ιβ
Not sure if many just take on a specifically different Chinese name or convert their name to characters based on sounds - but I think itβs cooler taking on a different name :))
My Chinese name meeting matches closely to the meaning of my last name βroot,β but there is another level. When written vertically the tree radical is above the water radical showing that the roots of the tree are nourished by water.
